Question: What is blood pressure?

Blood pressure is expressed by 2 numbers......example :120/ 98 well the first number is the pressure created by the amount of blood that heart is able to pump out and into your arteries and the other number is the pressure at which the blood returns to heart, if blood pressure is too high this is not good because it means your heart is working too hard,....if its too low it not good because this means the heart may not be pumping enough blood to make it circulate at a normal rate

Blood pressure is the measure of the pressure of your blood. There is Systolic and diastolic. Which means the two thumps you hear when checking your blood pressure.

Blood pressure is the pressure of blood in your arteries. Its basically measured or determined by the amount of blood, the resistance, and area that needs to be filled. A change to one or all of these factors affects the outcome. When your blood pressure is taken there are two numbers that we care about. Systolic is the pressure on the arteries when the heart is contracting. Diastolic is the pressure on the arteries when the heart is relaxed (between contractions). The average BP is 120/ 80 (systolic/ diastolic) but it is different for everyone. You dont want the BP to be too high or too low for multiple reason. If its too low you are not getting enough oxygen and nutrition to your cell and brain which can cause death. If its too high it can cause damage to blood vessels and possibly cause a hemmorage or a bleed in the brain.
