Has anyone on high blood pressure medication been on it for 30 years or more?
I've just found out I have severe hypertension and I'd like to know how many years my life expectancy is. I will take my meds and adjust my diet and habits but, even if I do this, how many years do I have? I'm extremely afraid and been crying my heart out.
I double dosed on high blood pressure medication. What do I do?
I'm a 17 year old male, seeking to get a sex change. The doctor gave me 100mg of Spironolactone, it says take 2 a day. I decided to take one at 4 30 PM, and another at 10 30 PM. Should I be worried? Will this harm me? What do I do? I've never done something like this before, I'm scared.I don't have high blood pressure, it's meant to reduce blood pressure. I took it about 20 minutes ago, what do I do? Help?I'm scared, sitting here, when can I know if I can go to bed without fear of waking up in a hospital bed?
Tell me how you quit high blood pressure medication with RAW VEGAN diet or alternative medicine, please!!!?
TO MODERATOR Please, do not delete answers of people suggesting healthy life style and no medication. We have a freedom of speech don't we????Please, write as well to my email, as they DO DELETE ANSWERS here for no reason. Especially if you are suggesting natural remedies...I couldn't believe my eyes If you stopped taking BP medication please let us know your experience...We strongly decided to quit Diovan BP medication as we became RAW Vegans and lead very healthy life style. We just need to hear other people's stories...I was mad and outraged when answers to my previous similar questions about quitting BP medications were DELETED by moderator...It's amazing...People have a right to say that they feel better after stopping BP medication. Why are they got deleted? Where is our freedom of speech? 3 answers about eating raw diet and being healthy were deleted, but those suggesting taking more medications were left alone...Can't believe it DO NOT SUGGEST MEDICATIONS TO US, THAT'S NOT WHAT THIS QUESTION IS ABOUT PLEASE, RESPECT THAT If you quit BP medication please let us know 1. Did you quit it gradually?2. Did you take any other supplements natural remedies?3. How long have you been off BP medication?4. What is your experience during the transition? Thank you please, write us to our email as well To answer a question previously BP was up to 180 100 not is 117 80 and after taking Diovan BP medication it goes as low as 103 37It looks like it is more dangerous to keep on taking this medication than try to stop it. My husband feels horrible when he takes the pill as his BP goes dangerously low I think that RAW vegan style was a reason of the lowering of BP now it is on average 113 70 120 80 . My husband is taking 2 gloves of fresh garlic daily, 2 tsp of flaxseed organic oil, L Arginine, and he likes to drink Valerian and Hawthorn tisane which is supposed to lower BP as well.We heard about CoenzymeQ10 & ProvexCV natural supplements, but do not want to take them simultaneously with High Blood medication.
How long is it safe to wait to restart high blood pressure medication?
My father has been on high blood pressure medication for the past 10 or so years. He's about 56, and overweight for his height I think 250lbs. at 5'9" . He doesn't exercise much, but he says his blood pressure readings have been excellent at his last few checkups. The story goes that his doctor told him his medication might someday cause his arms and legs to swell, which suddenly happened just last week. He stopped taking the medication and the swelling went away.Unfortunately, he's decided to wait until his next scheduled doctor's appointment in about 60 days to get a prescription for a different high blood pressure medication. Is it safe to wait that long? I'm worried for his health, and any answers would be greatly appreciated.
HELP!!!!!! Should I or shouldn't I take the high blood pressure medication?
I asked the doctor to give me the medication with a blood pressure of 175 90. But I read about the drug he gave me online and noticed they say these types of meds are not for those who have asthma. I also read that once you start taking them u can't stop so I am reluctant to start taking it. Now I had a real bad case of respiratory infection about 6 months ago. Needed to use a nebulizer. Had the first serious case of lung spasms in my life. Went to another doctor for that issue and I forgot to tell the doc who prescibed the bp meds that I had asthma situation going on. Drug company says " people with asthma should not take bp meds" . So I find myself in dilemma. What should I do? Especially my sleep apnea I think is the main culprit for the bp problem is killing me and I can't use a cpap machine. At what level does bp go before I have a stroke? Just wondering? Also I suppose heart attack is very possible not too far in the future.EDIT ADD I am currently trying some herbal remedies and I have found one is helping its called horse chestnut. I have gotten some relief of blood pressure as I noitce I have a reduction in hypertension. Will also look into hawthorn berry next. Just bought a bp machine on ebay can't wait to get it. Normally cost 79 dollars and I only paid 25 dollars with shipping.

Will my boyfriend be able to get into the army if he is on high blood pressure medication?
My boyfriend is 21 and, besides the bp thing, in good health. We know this because when he went to the doctor for an elevated BP somewhere around 146 87 to 154 98 , they subjected him to about 50 tests it seems. Everything came back normal, so the doctor put him on meds. All of his plans for his future rest on his ability to serve in the military. Anyone out there with a serious answer please help. It's heart breaking to think his plans could be ruined like this.
