Why is my diastolic blood pressure so low in comparison to my systolic?
I've been having issues with low blood pressure, but my diastolic is significantly lower than it should be. My last BP reading was about 90 over 38, therefore the systolic was on the low side of normal with the diastolic being very low.I was wondering what are the causes of these things and how i can elevate my blood pressure to normal levels.I've experienced trembling, coldness, dizziness, lightheadedness and all the other symptoms associated with low BP

What's the significance of diastolic blood pressure?
I understand increased systolic pressure correlates with increased risk of cerebral and cardiovascular diseases. Also wider pulse pressure is worse than normal pulse pressure. What is the significance of diastolic pressure? Forget about systole for a while. If you have a low diastole, you have increased or decreased chance of what? If you have a high diastole, you have increased or decreased chance of what? Thanks.

What does a high systolic and low diastolic blood pressure mean?
I have had consistently high over low blood pressure around 158 55 over many tests, I am 19 years old. The nurses just say something went wrong, but it keep happening even after switching arms.I have taken it at home, at a pharmacy and at the doctors, most have been very much like that. What I am worried about is that the systolic is hypertensive while the diastolic is hypotensive and I have never heard nor can find any info on this problem.

High systolic low diastolic blood pressure, 121-134 over 64-80.?
I have been monitoring my blood pressure over the last few months and it ranges. The overall average is about 124 72. Sometimes it has gone to 134 80. I am wondering if this is bad? I know 120 80 is optimal but I heard somewhere that the further apart the two numbers the worse for your heart? Is this true or should I have nothing to worry about for now? Thank you.

Why is my diastolic blood pressure so high?
When I'm in the doctors office earlier in the day my BP is fine, he didn't want to bring down my systolic by using meds but I think he's wrong as my diastolic is getting dangerously high. I guess my concern is what else could be causing this since the cardio seems to think it isn't my diet, weight or a heart issue.I took in 20 mins ago and it was 138 106, now its 132 94. It goes up at night, often with a flushed face as well. I've had heart tests and stress tests done and they were fine. This is driving me crazy because my cardio isn't interested he thinks that I must be imagining it or measuring wrong I've used 3 different cuffs and am very accurate, I've even had others take it for me .I'm 45 yrs old, in good health other than having M.S. and eat well, very very little salt and not much for processed foods. I don't know what to do next but this spiking diastolic really has me frustrated.Any ideas?

What is the difference between the systolic and diastolic blood pressure? What is the pulse pressure?
Detailed please

Caffeine's effect upon the body more specifically peakflow, vital capacity and diastolic blood pressure.?
Ok, basically i've just finished an investigation with my science class into the affects that caffeine has upon the body.We found that those who took more caffeine via pro plus had increased peak flow, vital capacity and diastolic blood pressure. However i'm not sure exactly why.I know caffeine is a stimulate upon the central nervous system, and therefore would increase the heart rate and therefore breathing rate . But we didn't find that the pulse rate or the systolic blood pressure increased. So why does the peak flow increase? some say that caffeine acts as a mild bronchodilator meaning your peak flow increases . However i'm not sure what this exactly is and what happens. Also why does vital capacity increase? And finally why does diastolic blood pressure increase but not systolic?I've tried looking into it but all i get back is things about asthma or caffeine products etc.I know it's a long question, sorry

What is causing low diastolic blood pressure and other symptoms and can I do anything?
I have been feeling very tired and week. I constantly need to lie down during day. I sleep for hours at night and still can't get up. I borrowed a blood pressure checking device and made notes of my bp each day. My diastolic BP is rarely above the 50s. I can have BP for the systolic reading at normal levels but diastolic always low and in mornings it all is low. I have bad visual disturbances but I have had my eyes checked and are ok. I feel sometimes as though I just can't focus and feel not with it at all. Yet, my vision gets really poor and washed out. I wonder what is going on. I had general health checks done and they are ok. No one has monitored my BP though until I used this machine as I just want to understand why I am nearly falling asleep at the wheel of my car some days. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks I am late 30s, male. I went through a lot of family stress over last few years. I started to put on weight even though I am not a big eater was 81kg and now hovers at100kg and lose a bit and put back on quickly with no great variation in diet.......I look very puffy in mornings and eyelids are constantly swollen. I was studying at uni this year but nothing I can think of that must be making me feel this way long term.last 3 years but it has been bad lately. I fall asleep in chairs in middle of day and when I wake up room is flickering like mad and that takes awhile to subside.

What could a low diastolic blood pressure reading (in the 70's) be the cause for?
My blood pressure has usually been pretty normal. Yesterday my diastolic was very low, in the 70's, BUT I've been out of my ulcer medication for over two months and have been very sick on a daily basis with that.. Could that have caused the change in the reading? The tech is the one who noted it on the chart and the doc never brought it up when she came into the room for my appointment.

I have a systolic blood pressure of 150mmHg while my diastolic blood pressure is 74mmHg.?
While I know that I am hypertensive and will resume my medications, I was wondering why my diastolic pressure is low. Is this consistent with hypertension since all literature points to diastolic pressure being more than 90mmHg for one to be considered hypertensive.

What's systolic and diastolic blood pressure?
What are the differences between the two?

Is it possible to have normal systolic blood pressure and high diastolic blood pressure?
I used an in store bp machine and got readings of 127 95 and 129 97 when i retook it to test its reliability.I am 22yrs old215lbs

High systolic, low diastolic blood pressure?
My blood pressure has been about 140 50 for the past few weeks, is this normal? Before that is was 130 70.It just seems a little strange to me that my systolic is above normal and my diastolic below normal.

Diastolic blood pressure as low as 45 when lying down...?
I am 20 years old and my Systolic pressure is around 120 standing or lying.. But my Diastolic pressure remains at about 60 when seated and was recorded as low as 45 when lying down, I often feel light headed when I get out of bed and I can feel the pulse in my temples at night, I thought this might indicate high blood pressure but obviously I was wrong... It seems my " pulse pressure" is above average tho, is this reading normal for a young person with a relatively fast metabolism?
