Anyone take blood pressure medicine and iron supplement?
I take 250mg of methyldopa twice a day for high blood pressure. I also just found out that I am an anemic and dr told me to start taking ferrous sulfate twice a day also. the thing is I've heard read some negative things about taking methlydopa ferrous sulfate at the same time like it would reduce the purpose of the blood pressure pill. I want to ask the doctor, but she's also the same dr who told me it wouldn't hurt to just stop taking metaprolol another blood pressure medicine and start taking methlydopa which landed me in the er. anyway. i need both the blood pressure medicine and the ferrous sulfate any recommendations.

Blood Pressure Medicine in 68 year-old female.?
A 68 year old female patient was placed on blood pressure control medicine during a visit to her family doctor. The patient had never had high blood pressure before, it was actually borderline low, but was under a great deal of stress financial and death in the family at the time. After a period of time, she began having problems that sounded like blood pressure issues. She returned to the doctor and was tested, but he concluded it was not related to her blood pressure. Her BP was tested while she was sitting, standing, and resting on the exam table. Readings were not released to her. Recently, she was forced to go off of her medicine due to a combination of bad weather and the closing of the pharmacy. In concern, her BP was monitored constantly until she would be able to obtain more medicine. Due to holidays, weather, and other issues, this took about three weeks.During this time, her BP never exceeded 140 90 in either a systolic or diastolic reading. Only on two occasions did her BP approach either the 140 139 and 90 exactly 90 . In one case it was 139 77 and the other was 120 90. The average reading has been 120 81 but has dipped down to 117 77. Since she has been off the medicine, her symptoms have stopped completely and her mood has elevated as well as her activity level has increased. I welcome any comments on this issue to help us understand why she was placed on BP medicine, kept on it for so long, and why her concerns were ignored by her physician. Thank you,
Have Been Taking A Double Dose of Blood Pressure Medicine?
What do you do when you have just realized that you have been taking over a double dose of blood pressure medicine every day? The one is ok, but the other one is 40MG a day and I just noticed I have been taking two of those every day. That is 80MG every day along with the other one that is 10MG. My blood pressure is 112 60I was taking 20MG of the one medication every day and they increased it to 40MG. I took two pills of the 20, so got confused and just took two of the 40MG. I think I have done that for a few days now.
